Control Issues

It's funny how quickly I can forget such a simple principal: God is in control. It seems like every month I am reminded that I have no control. Tomorrow we leave for Oaxaca, a state located in southern Mexico. The Engage Mexico team is going to spend a week helping paint a school and teaching kids about Jesus. It will be a great trip, one that I thought I wouldn't be able to go on.

Two weeks ago, I had more work than I knew what to do with and it appeared that I wouldn't be able to make the trip. I looked at ways I could make it happen. I thought about adding internet to my phone, in order to be able to send files while I was away. I also considered spending my mornings and evenings at the local internet cafe. Needless to say, everything I was trying to do, to make it work, just wasn't working.

Then all of a sudden, my work load wrapped up. I was able to get more done in a week, then I ever have before. And now I am looking at being 100% computer free for the trip. I will be able to take my camera and spend time serving the community of Oaxaca, rather than serving myself.

God is teaching me new things everyday about his grace and love. So what has God taught you this week?
