It's finally hit me.
It's finally hit me. I am in Mexico and it finally has hit me. The reality of being a long way from home is finally sinking in. As I was sitting at a roadside taco stand, I realized that this is my new home. This is the place I want to be, this is the place God has me, and this is my new home.
The language barrier is something I did not prepare for. I have been to Mexico, but most people spoke English. This is the first time I have really felt lost and confused. Ordering from a simple dinner menu was a challenge. It will take me some time to get comfortable ordering food, asking for directions, and having a simple conversation. Today has shown me a new level of patience for those living in the US that are still struggling to learn our language. It is an intimidating task that we should all try once in our lives.
It has been a long day, 14 hours at this point, and I still have some work to do. Until tomorrow...
