Stress and Love
Stress, love, money. All these things impact my life on a daily basis. Stress from work, from trying to be a good husband, to trying to lead my family, to trying to provide. As we get closer to moving, I find myself becoming more stressed and less loving. I find myself struggling to figure out how to communicate love to my wife. I think this is a challenge most husbands face, with everything going on we turn from the only two things that matter: Jesus and our wives, to things that the world tells us we need to focus on.
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. - 2 Corinthians 7:10
Paul is challenging us to look at our sorrow in a new way. Jesus has covered us, our sorrow and sin has been covered by his death. So releasing my sorrow to Jesus is the way that leads to no regret. I can continue on walking towards loving my wife and our calling.
If I can keep turning to Jesus with my sin, I will love more, love better, and my love will continue to grow. So what about you? How is your sin preventing you from loving those closest to you?
